The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope, the inspirational story of William Kamkwamba, a boy in Malawi, Africa who built his own windmill from found materials at age 14 has been selected as the inaugural book for the University’s First Year Reading Experience (FYRE) program. As part of the University’s 125th anniversary, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community are invited to a book club event on August 30th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Special guest Kamkwamba will be in attendance.

Details:
ACT workshops cover general information about the tests as well as individual sections for the ACT in English, Math, Science, and Writing. Each student receives 5-6 hours of classroom instruction and a workbook that has an additional 10-15 hours of supplementary work. The workbook includes an actual retired ACT test with explanatory answers, English and Math reviews, clearly outlined content overviews for each subsection, quick tip study guides, and additional retired ACT tests.
