UTC Music Dept. presents Heather Small, Flute
Details:
UTC adjunct flute instructor, Dr. Heather Small, will present a recital of flute music from a variety of different composers and styles. The performance will be located in the Cadek Recital Hall on the main floor of the Cadek Conservatory of Music at UTC, and it will be presented free of charge. Dr. Small will perform a program that includes “Hypnosis” by Ian Clarke, a contemporary English composer, “Le Merle Noir” (“The Black Bird”) by Messiaen, and Sonata in E Major by J.S. Bach. Also on the program is “The Fish are Jumpin'” by Robert Dick. The title is loosely related to a line in “Summertime” from the opera Porgy and Bess. Additionally, Dr. Small will present “Fantasy by Faure”, a French Conservatory piece, and “Sonata” by Taktakishvili, a piece based on Russian folk music.
