Details:
The purpose of the American Red Cross course is to teach candidates the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries. To enroll in this course you must be at least 15 years old by the last class of the course. To participate in the course you must be able to swim 300 yards continuously and retrieve a 10 pound weight from 10 feet of water. |

UTC Chamber Singers & Chattanooga Singers Auditions
Details:
Auditions for the UTC Chamber Singers or the UTC Chattanooga Singers will be held Thursday March 24th from 10:30-noon, Monday March 28th 11:00-3:00, and Tuesday March 29th 9:00-10:30. The Chattanooga Singers is a concert choir that performs a wide variety of music including major works. The Chattanooga Singers (MUS 0200) meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15 until 1:30. The Chamber Singers (MUS 0220) is the main touring chorus in the music department. It is a smaller more select chorus that rehearses on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00-12:50 and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:50-12:05. Auditions consist of singing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” range check, ear-training and sight-reading exercises. Contact Dr. Ford at Kevin-Ford@utc.edu or 425-5243 to register for a five-minute audition spot. If you are not available during the three audition windows, contact Dr. Ford to arrange an alternate time. |

Details:
The String Project at UTC provides an opportunity for school-aged children to learn a stringed instrument at a reasonable cost. In the spring semester, students may join if they have had previous instruction. Students receive private and group instruction on their chosen instrument. Students in grades 3-12 may apply for admission to the program. If an orchestra exists at the student’s school, they must be enrolled in that group to participate in the String Project. UTC has a limited number of instruments available for rental. |

With such notable talent as James Earl Jones, Linda Hunt, and Donald Sutherland lending their voices to commercials, films, and videos, one would think that it would be next to impossible to break into this field. Not So! In this class, you will learn about an exciting way to get around the competition and actually turn voice-overs into a thriving full or part-time business! You will practice voice-over techniques and learn the voice-over business as a whole. The instructor will discuss the numerous opportunities, the income potential, and the all-important demo and how to have it produced. This class is for the photographer who wants to understand and start using the more advanced controls on their camera. To get the most from this class, participants need to have at least a basic knowledge of their camera as described in our Beginning Digital Photography class.
