In this six week class we will learn and engage in a writing process known as Proprioceptive Writing (PW). Whether you are interested in writing primarily for yourself or for an audience, PW can help you express yourself with precision and strength. Through PW you can learn to focus attention, develop discipline, narrate and explore experience in depth, discover life stories, and bring more of yourself into your writing. Your writing will become more textured, cathartic, and fresh. As a bonus, the writing that is generated by this process will provide a rich storehouse of raw material that you can draw on for future writing projects.

This class is for the person who is new to the world of digital photography and would like to start at the beginning. We will go beyond using your camera in basic point and shoot mode, but not get into the more advanced camera controls and features (those will be covered in our Intermediate class). We will explore what you can do with your photos, such as printing, getting them onto your computer to share with family and friends, etc. We will also make sure that each person’s camera is set correctly for the type of photography they are interested in.
