UTC is very interested in the success of students, particularly freshmen, who are transitioning from high school to college. To assist in this transition, we offer a First-Year Studies course called USTU 1250. USTU 1250 serves as an introduction to the academic community and helps freshman identify the nature and purpose of a college education, learn the expectations for academic success and importance of time management, and locate academic resources. We also offer a FYRE (First-Year Reading Experience) program that helps students learn the expectations of college level academic performance. To learn more about each program, follow one of the following links.
