Freshman Academic Success Tracking Program
FAST strives to improve academic performance and retention among freshman students through various facilitative and intervention efforts, primarily aimed at encouraging and promoting class attendance. Regular class attendance is a major factor in determining the academic success of students at all levels.
How FAST Works
- When a student misses 2 or more class sessions, faculty /instructors provide attendance information, via a web-based system, to FAST academic advisors.
- Students are contacted directly by an academic advisor or ARD about their absences.
- Students who are contacted are given information about the importance of class attendance and directed to appropriate academic success resources. Students are also encouraged to talk to their instructors if they have questions or academic problems.
