Job Description

Operations Management Trainees (OMT) with Shaw are college graduates that will utilize their engineering skills to complete high-priority project work to strengthen our competitive edge in the market. These projects will include working with a variety of business groups, being immersed in process optimization and striving to achieve value-maximizing goals. The club’s home pool is the Baylor School Natatorium. This multi-million dollar facility is state of the art and one of the best in aquatic centers in the country.  The indoor pool features 22 short course yard lanes by ten 50 meter long course lanes, and is equipped with two moveable bulkheads.

The brand new Senior 2 practice group is a step below our Senior group. This group’s focus is training for both USA Swimming meets and for the high school swimming season.  This coach would report directly to the Head Coach.  He/she would be responsible for coaching and planning daily workouts for this high school age practice group.  Competitive swimming and coaching experience is required.  Experience coaching and teaching swimming lessons is preferred.  Compensation for this position depends on experience.

9/4/14……..Youth Soccer Instructors Needed for Children Ages 3-6

Soccer Shots is a program that introduces soccer to children ages 2-8 at preschools and day care centers all over the area.  We are currently expanding and need a few great instructors to help us run some sessions at a few of our centers.

This is a part time and seasonal position and can be somewhat flexible, depending on your schedule.

The classes are during the week, typically in the morning before 11:00 or in the afternoon after 2:30.  Each class is 30 to 40 minutes long.  We provide training, equipment, and all curriculum materials.  We pay $15 for each session you run with a plan for promotion after 10 weeks.  At some centers, there will be multiple classes, meaning you could run 2 or even 3 classes in a row.  This would double or triple your pay.

The ideal instructor meets the following criteria: 

  • Responsible – arrives on time to each session, can handle a group of 10 or more children, keeps accurate attendance, communicates well with Soccer Shots director, etc.
  • Professional – neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with day care center staff and director, self assured
  • Enthusiastic – Must enjoy young kids, be able to connect with kids ages 2-8, must make the Soccer Shots class the best 30 minutes of their week, etc.
  • Soccer – no official soccer experience is required.  However, having some familiarity with the game either as a player or coach will be helpful

In addition to the above, a successful candidate must pass a Child Abuse History Clearance and Background Check.

8/14/14………. Quality Specialist, Complaint Processing – Chattem Chemicals

Chattem Chemicals is looking for a senior Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering student.

BASIC FUNCTION:  Perform and document consumer complaint investigations of medical devices, cosmetic, nutritional and drug products. This is a part-time position, to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.

SCOPE of RESPONSIBILITIES:  Primary responsibility is to manage all administrative activities associated with the complaint handling process including, but not limited to, reviewing, investigating, and closing complaints records in the complaint handling system. The QA Specialist will work to recreate the complaints reported to us through the Consumer. The QA Specialist must be able to recreate the reported performance deficiency, provide statistical reporting analysis for tracking, and transfer the actions that transpired in a technical document within our tracking system.  

DUTIES:

  • Conduct or assist in investigations, write or approve, and close complaint investigations for medical device, cosmetic, nutritional and drug products as required.
  • Assist in processing product complaints by interacting with the Consumer Affairs Manager or other departments
  • Reviews Device History Records (DHR) for quality complaints associated with the manufacture of medical device products, requests additional information from applicable TPM’s as necessary.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of complaint investigations within the Seibel database.
  • Perform initial evaluation, assess and reviews quality consumer complaints in a timely manner; make judgment calls on the Level and Classification of an investigation per procedure
  • Manage complaint samples: evaluation, testing, retain, and destruction
  • Communicate problem/issues found within the complaints to management as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

EDUCATION or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school degree required with experience in FDA regulated environment.
  • 3-5 years experience in technical writing.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.  Advanced experience with Excel preferred.  An understanding of basic statistics required.
  • Minimum of Senior status in a degree program, or recently graduated. Degree must be in an Engineering discipline including one of the following: Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial.

Overall Objective of Assignment: 

The Process Development and Technology Transfer Intern will be responsible for assisting in the development, qualification and commercialization of new and improved Personal Care and Topical Analgesic products. The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer/scientist who will assist in scale up of lab batches to pilot and production sizes. In addition, the candidate may assist in the qualification of equipment, both laboratory and commercial. He/she will demonstrate a high level of technical skill, organization and project management aptitude. He/she must be a team player who can translate and present science based material to broad audiences.

Reporting Relationships

The Process Development and Technology Transfer Intern will report to the hiring Process Development and Technology Transfer Engineer/Scientist.  Key customers include team members of: Process Development and Technology Transfer, Product Development Scientists, Quality Assurance, Operations and Analytical Research and Development.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Follow Good Lab Practice’s (GLP’s)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while supporting Product Development efforts to launch new and innovative consumer product formulations.
  • Operate and maintain scientific instruments and laboratory equipment including but not limited to pH meters, viscometers, heating and mixing equipment, glass ware, microscopes, scales, filling equipment, sealing equipment.
  • Operate and maintain Product Development Pilot Lab equipment including but not limited to Pilot Processing centers, data collectors, temperature and humidity collectors, boiler, hot box, high shear mixers.
  • Compounding Pilot and Feasibility batches to generate prototypes for aesthetic evaluation, stability, analytical, microbiological, and consumer research testing.
  • Generate, interpret and present data to support Quality by Design and Commercial Scale-up efforts.
  • Develop a working and up-to-date knowledge base of product forms, raw materials, new technology.
  • Partner with cross functional teams including Operations, QA/QC, Product Development and Analytical Research and Development to support existing and new commercial products.
  • Skillfully communicate the sciences (Chemistry, Engineering, etc.) related to product formulations and processes to effectively influence process decisions and process design and claim substantiations.
  • Manage multiple priorities and the changing dynamics of projects and organizational needs.
  • Prioritize time and resources to meet project needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior or senior level student on track to attain a four year degree (BS / BA) to include chemistry, biology, chemical engineering or other healthcare sciences.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other software.
  • Creative and detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Meaningful interest in skin, hair care, and/or dermatology sciences.
  • Standing, bending, lifting required, not exceeding 25 lbs.
