The Baylor Swim Club located in Chattanooga, TN is now accepting applications for a part-time / hourly swimming lesson instructor to help facilitate its’ growing aquatics program.  The Baylor Swim Club is a school supported and coach operated USA Swimming Bronze Medal club running on the campus of the Baylor School.

The club’s home pool is the Baylor School Natatorium. This multi-million dollar facility is state of the art, and one of the best in aquatic centers in the country.  The indoor pool features 22 short course yard lanes by ten 50 meter long course lanes, and equipped with two moveable bulkheads.  Swimming lessons are taught in our separate state of the art endless pool.  This pool duals as a training pool for experienced swimmers, and for children just learning to swim.

This person would report directly to the Head Age Group Coach / Swim School Director. He/she would be responsible for teaching both group and private swimming lessons.  Experience teaching swimming lessons is preferred.  Compensation for this position is based on experience.

  • Operates a variety of grounds keeping equipment to maintain the golf courses; adjusts and operates a reel mower; operates gators, sand pros, aerators, top dresser, tractors and pull trailers.
  • Operates a motor vehicle to transport material, equipment, and personnel to and from work sites.
  • Maintains golf courses; aerates, top dresses and fertilizes putting greens and fairways; determines proper turf height; applies herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides to grass surrounding areas.
  • Monitors operation of irrigation system to ensure proper watering coverage; adjusts and repairs irrigation locations as needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous landscaping duties such as weed eating, mulching, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications are dependent upon position.

  • Pro Shop: 16 years old; six months experience in customer service, food handling or operating a cash register preferred. Previous knowledge of golf, golf equipment and golf apparel is a plus.  
  • Concessions: 16 years old; at least six months experience in food handling and preparations and operation of a cash register preferred.
  • Equipment Mechanic: High school diploma or GED; one (1) year of experience and/or training involving equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Laborer: 16 years old; at least six months of experience in general labor work and grounds maintenance work, including some experience in the operation of golf course equipment preferred. Valid TN Driver's license required.


  • Knowledge of policies, standards and regulations pertaining to the specific duties and responsibilities of the job; a general knowledge of golf; customer service principals; how to handle and prepare food; knowledge of grounds equipment and maintenance; math operations.

We have a high school entrepreneurship program, where we will be doing project-based learning for a semester in Title 1 public high schools. This year we are in Howard, Brainerd, East Ridge, Tyner Academy, Red Bank High school, and STEM.

We currently need 2 more interns to help the facilitators in the classroom. Interns are basically expected to show up to the classes, interact with kids, work with the students in their groups, help the main facilitator with teaching, activities, etc.

Interns get a $500 stipend for the semester. We start the week of Aug 22. Our biggest need right now is for an intern at Howard.

The Creative Discovery Museum is searching for a Building Operations and Exhibits Technician to assist with the maintenance and repair of the building including the equipment, fixtures (lighting and plumbing) and museum exhibits. 7/18/16…………………..Tennessee Healthy Transitions Initiative (TN-HTI)


This summer, we are working to recruit young adult council members in the Hamilton County community! Additionally, we will work will a small group of youth council members from Benton, Carroll, Gibson, Hamilton, Henry, Lake, Obion, and Weakley counties to conduct a youth-driven research project. The goal of the project is to work with the youth research team to understand how they navigate community resources to meet their needs as they transition from youth to early adulthood, and to promote awareness in your community.

Youth and youth adult council members who are eligible, interested, who attend a research training and who dedicate at least 10 hours to the project will be compensated with $150 at the end of the summer. TN-HTI will also provide transportation for all activities.


  • Youth council members ages 16 to 25 years old
  • Resides in, or attends school in one of the 8 participating counties
  • Able to attend a research training session (food and transportation provided)
  • Agree to dedicate 10+ hours to the project
