Job description: 

  • Taking cars through emissions
  • Ordering parts
  • Helping with photographs of cars and loading to website
  • General appearance of cars (i.e. window stickers are in vehicles, cars are neat on lot, etc...)
  • Keeping gas in cars
  • Keeping the lot clean

The job description may change some what as we are a busy car lot and the person may be called upon to do something that is not on the list, but this is a general description of the job. Job is part to full time because in the summer they can work more hours than they do during the school year.

Must have a clean driving record

Pay $10.00 an hour

7/23/14...........Runner/Clerical Help - Knight & Hooper, PLLC

Downtown law firm needs 1 runner/clerical help.  Job includes filing, delivering papers to courts and downtown offices, scanning documents, copy and mailing paperwork, assisting existing staff as needed.

Pay is minimum wage - $7.25/hr.  Will need someone to work 20-25 hours per week.  We can work around the student's schedule.

7/22/14……………Work Voting Polls

I am looking for several people to work early voting poll locations and various public places around Chattanooga through August 24. Our client is working with a group of grocery stores which is seeking petition signatures to put a referendum on the November election ballot permitting the sale of wine in grocery stores. The governor recently signed this into law and now each city has the opportunity to vote on it for themselves. 

Applicants must be 21 or over. The staff positions pay $10 per hour. Locations and hours vary, but generally include 11 am - 2 pm shifts around the downtown Chattanooga area, with evening and weekend hours available throughout the community.

7/22/14……..Part Time Positions Available -  Tasty Daylight Donuts, East Brainerd

We are hiring for a variety of positions. We are looking for part time employees, but with the right employee they have the potential to become full time.

We are a donut shop and we need counter employees for shifts ranging starting as early 5:30am (for students wishing to work a few hours before their classes start) to shifts that can start in the afternoon and last until we close between 9pm during the week, and 11pm on weekends.  To work the counter position, we are looking for individuals who excel and customer service and are self motivated. We are a small business and we are a team that works together and understands that sometimes we have to perform jobs that help other areas of the business that extend beyond simply decorating and serving customers. 
Any student can apply, but we are interested in reaching out to marketing or business majors who are at least sophomores who would like a part time job decorating and serving, but can help us with the behind the scenes aspects of our business such as marketing. We have never had a student working for us in these fields, but because we are a small business and most importantly a team, we all help in all areas. This could be a great opportunity for a student to get real working experience and help us build our brand name, even if they do not intend to stay with us for years to come!

We are also looking for help in our kitchen to assist our Lead Cook. This job begins at 3am and ends between 6am and 8am. This job requires the ability to lift 75 pounds. This position includes making cake donuts, and operating the mixer. We train on all aspects of the jobs, but prior kitchen experience of any variety is always a plus!

Job Description:  UPS is hiring individuals to work as part-time Package Handlers.  They are looking to hire about 15 students.

This is a physical, fast-paced position that involves continual lifting, lowering and sliding packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. Part-time employees usually work 3 ½ - 4 hours each weekday (Monday through Friday).
Package Handlers receive a competitive hourly rate ($10.00/hour) and also an attractive benefits package. Please note that these opportunities are part-time only working approximately 17 1/2 – 20 hours per week. Employees can expect to take home between $140.00 and $170.00 each week after deductions have been taken for taxes, etc.

Position summary: UTC student interns work as assistants to a lead instructor teaching creative writing and illustration techniques to elementary school children.

Pay: Stipend

Work Schedule/Hours:

Approximately 25 hours distributed as follows...

  • Ten 75-minute sessions over 10 weeks after regular elementary school hours plus time required for helping lead instructor set up and clean up/dismiss students (generally 3.00-5.00 pm, one day a week)
  • Training session
  • Mid-program staff meeting
  • End of program celebration event for students
  • Final staff meeting

Duties and Responsibilities: (included but not limited to)

  • Attend all instructional sessions of the 10-week program
  • Actively assist lead instructor during all instructional sessions
  • Assist lead instructor with setting up for each session
  • Assist lead instructor with clean up and student dismissal for each session
  • Attend training, mid-program meeting, celebration event and final staff meeting
  • Maintain regular communication with lead instructor and program director

Summary:

The Joint Commission defines a medical scribe as an unlicensed individual hired to enter information into the electronic health record (EHR) or chart at the direction of a physician or licensed independent practitioner and can be found in multiple settings including physician practices, hospitals, emergency departments and others.

 Essential Job Function:

  1. Capture accurate and detailed documentation (handwritten, electronic, or otherwise) of the encounter in a timely manner.
  2. Scribes are not permitted to make independent decisions or translations while capturing or entering information into the health record or EHR beyond what is directed by the provider.
  3. Assisting the provider in navigating the HER.
  4. Responding to various messages as directed by the provider.
  5. Locating information for review (i.e., previous notes, reports, test results, and laboratory results).
  6. Entering information into the EHR as directed by the provider.
  7. Researching information requested by the provider.
  8. Just be available to work 1 weekend per month.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Joint Commission 2011 guidelines for the use of scribes across various clinical settings:

  1. Verbal orders may neither be given to nor by scribes.
  2. Signing (including name and title) and dating of all entries into the medical record is necessary—for both electronic and manual documentation.
  3. The role and signature of the scribe must be clearly identifiable and distinguishable from that of the physician or licensed independent practitioner and other staff. Example: “Scribed for Dr. [name of physician] by [name and title of scribe], [date and time of entry].”
  4. Orientation and training must be given specific to the organization and role.
  5. Competency assessment and performance evaluations should be performed.

6/23/14…………Intern – Logistics Made Simple

Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

Plan your work for the day each morning. POD leader will manage the group. Discuss what needs to be booked, tracked, traced etc…

When the load is booked through our TMS direct by our customer:

  1. When a load comes through the system and you receive the email that it was booked, you need to call E-freight to make sure it is scheduled.
  2. Enter the load into broker plus
  3. Do status checks on each load to make sure the pick up gets completed.
  4. Work with E-freight when issues arise to make sure the problem gets solved.
  5. Make sure the customer has our Bill of Lading

When the load is emailed to us or called in and we have to set it up with the carrier:

  1. Make sure you have accurate weight, dimensions, class and if it is palletized or not. If they do not know the class you must get the commodity so you can verify the class through class-it. Make sure to ask if there is a special service or accessorial needed.
  2. Get an accurate rate using this info through our TMS or the carrier’s website direct.
  3. Once the customer gives you the approval to schedule the load you will do so on the site you got the rate from.
  4. Print the Bill of Lading and send it to the customer so they can make sure to give it to the carrier when he arrives.
  5. Enter the load into broker plus.
  6. Do status checks on each load to make sure the pick up gets scheduled.

When there is a change in pricing:

There are a few things that can change the rate for an ltl shipment. At each terminal they will flag a shipment for inspection if it looks weird or different from what the Bill of Lading says.

The following are issues that can affect the pricing:

  1. Re-weigh
  2. Re-class
  3. Re-consignment
  4. Wrong bill of lading
  5. All accessorials – See Pod leader for explanation here.

Pay is $9.00 per hour and it will be 20-35 hrs per week.

This position would include the following:

  • Data entry
  • Answering phones
  • Customer service to both our customers as well as the trucking companies that call in.

We need someone with good computer skills. (Microsoft word, excel, outlook and then our databases.) As long as they can maneuver quickly around search engines, stay organized, listen well, take direction easily and work well with others they will be a good team fit.

They do not have to be in the transportation field but this would be helpful for them if they are.

Responsibilities:

The Intern will assist various Internal Audit team members to both develop their business skills while allowing the team members to strengthen their leadership capabilities. The work will include:

  • S-Ox related activities
  • KPMG Audit Assistance (External Auditors)
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

The potential exists to participate in process improvement projects, dependent on the Intern’s performance, drive and desires coupled with Internal Audit’s work schedule.

Qualifications:

In addition to being able to write clear and concise, the candidate should:

  • Have familiarity with fundamental Accounting and Auditing concepts
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Have Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, Word and Access
