2/24/17…………………………….Niedlov’s is Hiring a Mixer

  • Competitive Starting Wage
  • EARLY morning shifts, 2 AM – 10:30AM
  • At least 2 days/wk

Niedlov’s is looking for a great new person to work with our production team. The morning mixer creates the dough for every type of bread we sell, from artisan to wholesale, and from levain-style breads to dinner rolls. Position involves mixing, some artisan bread shaping, and bagel baking. We work with care, efficiency, and attention to detail to make bread that is known throughout town for its quality and deliciousness…and we have fun.

This is active, concrete, hands-on work. You’re likely to build a little muscle! You’ll be handling hundreds of pounds of dough, and you’ll be around a lot of wheat flour. You will be surrounded by that wonderful bakery smell. If you enjoy using your hands and don’t mind repetition and routine, you will likely enjoy this job. As production workers, we always get to finish our daily to-do list before leaving work, which is quite satisfying.

We are unique in that our back-of-house has a caring, cheerful feel…even in the midst of a loud and bustling environment. We do all we can to make Niedlov’s a place where it’s enjoyable to work, because the people are great and so is what we do—we can be truly proud of what we put our time and effort into.

The ideal applicant:

  • has interest/experience in artisan baking, developing a sense for the art of breadmaking
  • is observant and efficient, attuned to detail and timing
  • enjoys physical work, can lift at least 50 lbs., is able to function in a warm fast-paced environment, has strength and stamina, can work standing for duration of a shift
  • has presence of mind, willingness to perform sometimes repetitive work thoughtfully
  • PaIf you enjoy physical work, can handle a good deal of heat and probably your share of burns, and want to learn about making bread:has a track record of reliability on the job and is comfortable with the realities of an unconventional work schedule.

If interested, please stop by the bakery and ask for an application at the register; we highly encourage you to attach your résumé. Please do not call the bakery about this position, as we are often unable to answer during busy hours. For inquiries, you can email Sara, our head of bakery operations:  slanham@niedlovs.com.

2/24/17…………………..Niedlov’s is Seeking a Bench Production Assistant

  • Starting Wage: D.O.E.
  • Early morning shifts, 6 AM – 1:30 PM
  • At least 3 days/week, up to full-time; Saturday availability strongly preferred

Niedlov's Breadworks is growing, and we are looking for a great new person to work with us in bench production. Essentially, "bench production" refers to the 4-person team that portions out and shapes our bread dough, from artisan loaves to wholesale hamburger buns. We work with care, efficiency, and attention to detail to make bread that is known throughout Chattanooga for its consistent quality and deliciousness...and we have fun.

A little about the position:

  • This is active, concrete, hands-on work; it makes a great foil for desk work or abstract, mental work. You're likely to even build a little muscle! You'll be handling a lot of dough, and around a lot of wheat flour. You'll be surrounded by that incredible bakery smell.
  • We do work in a warm environment and are on our feet, with moderately heavy lifting, and our work is repetitive--typical restaurant stuff. If you enjoy using your hands and don't mind repetition and routine, you will likely enjoy this job. And, we always get to finish our daily to-do list before we leave work, which is quite satisfying.
  • Unlike some restaurants, our back-of-house cultivates a caring and warm working environment...even in the midst of a loud and bustling We do all we can to make Niedlov's a place where it's enjoyable to work, because the people are great and so is what we do--we can be truly proud of what we put our time and effort into.
  • We can offer about (3) 8 hr. shifts per week, with a training-period hourly pay rate that will rise once training is satisfactorily complete. Flexible schedule in our bench crew is essential, as is Saturday Hours are early AM; you'll start out scheduled at 6 AM or later, but be prepared to eventually come to work as early as 5:15 AM. All bench production shifts end by around 1:30 PM, sometimes earlier (depends on how much bread we have to make on a given day.)
  • For this job it does help to be a morning person, but some people who have been night owls in the past get converted while working this job. In any case, we hit the ground running. It sometimes seems like we get more done by the time some people are getting up, than a lot of people do in an entire day!
  • You will have a hand in creating everything from traditional Old World rye style loaves, to Challah braids, to Niedlov's iconic Chattanooga Sourdough, to tons of buns for local restaurants. You will notice your own work nearly everywhere you go to eat around town.

If interested, please stop by the bakery and ask for an application at the register; we welcome you to attach your résumé. Please do not call the bakery about this position, as we are often unable to answer during busy hours. For inquiries, you can email Sara, our Head of Bakery Operations: slanham@niedlovs.com.

1/20/17……………….Physician Scribe - Cornerstone Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia

Job Highlights:

  • $10 per hour after initial training period- $8 per hour during training
  • Flexible schedule- you choose which days you can to work
  • Paid training providing a crash course in medicine.
  • Offers paid one-on-one time with physicians.
  • You get full exposure to the real clinical settings.
  • It is an excellent resume builder for medical or graduate school.

Details:

We are recruiting outstanding students interested in careers in medicine to begin staffing their program.  Our company is the largest scribe company in the United States.  We are looking to recruit students to become part of our team.

The job opportunity is called a “Scribe;” we act as personal assistants to the physician and perform all of their non-patient-care tasks.  These include documentation, patient tracking, organization, and much more.   We are looking for extremely motivated, sharp, and adaptable students who perform well in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.  Because you will work one-on-one with a board certified physician for the entirety of their shift you become intimately familiar with medicine.  It is incredibly exciting to work as a scribe.  Additionally, you gain first-hand experience documenting exactly like a physician; a skill that is invaluable later for any career in health.

There is both theoretical classroom training and applied training live in the clinical setting.   Because of the rigors of training, all hours spent training are paid.  After training, shifts last 8-12 hours each, and we ask for a minimum of two shifts per week.  Additionally, since we commit over 100 hours of training for each employee, there is a verbal commitment of two years of work.  The training starts at $8.00 per hour (or the state’s minimum wage) and raises to $10.00 per hour after you have proved your ability to work in the clinical setting.  Additionally, we are looking to hire a chief scribe to run the program at this hospital, so career opportunities are available for outstanding candidates.

Few other positions allow for such direct exposure to the medicine, and this opportunity is paid!   This job is one of a kind; those who have excelled as scribes have consistently progressed to have successful careers in medicine.  If you especially impress a physician, they will be happy to provide a strong letter of recommendation.  The medical terminology acquired during your time as a scribe will put you leagues above your other classmates whether in medical school, physician assistant school, or another healthcare related postgraduate education program.
