UPS is hiring individuals to work as temporary, seasonal Driver Helpers. This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. It requires excellent customer contact skills and a lot of walking.

As a Driver Helper you will not drive the delivery vehicle but assist the driver in the delivery of packages.

Driver Helpers usually meet the UPS driver at a mutually agreed upon time and location each weekday (Monday through Friday) and typically do not work on weekends or selected holidays. Hours vary but usually begin after 8:00 a.m. and end before 8:00 p.m. Driver Helpers must comply with UPS appearance guidelines.

A summer research internship administered for Volkswagen Chattanooga by ORAU on behalf of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

MTR Camp is a paid summer internship for college students interested in urban education. The program is designed to provide academic enrichment within a summer camp experience for students who attend an MTR partner school. Interns will be exposed to urban education in Memphis and the residency program. Interns will live in intentional community, explore Memphis and receive training in effective instructional techniques.

All staff will create an engaging and high-energy camp environment for students while performing one of the following roles:

Bike sharing is a sustainable, healthy, and innovative community-based transportation program which provides short distance, point-to-point, and simple-to-use bikes for use around the city. In partnership with the City of Chattanooga and Outdoor Chattanooga, Motivate International Inc. introduced this community-based transport option to Chattanooga, TN in the summer of 2012. Bike Chattanooga provides an opportunity for users to access bikes at multiple self-serve locations and return bikes to any other available station in the system.

Overview of Position:

A Rebalancer/Station Tech is responsible for the daily maintenance of a system of bike share stations and bikes in the Chattanooga, TN area.  An individual in this role drives a commercial van to help maintain the optimal number of available bikes for our members, conducts bike share station maintenance and repairs, executes monthly bike safety checks when needed, and delivers customer service to Bike Chattanooga members during work hours and events.  Please note, this is a Part-Time position.

Key Aspects of Position:

  • Interact and assist customers during work hours and special events - represent Bike Chattanooga and Motivate International responsibly and effectively.
  • Inspect and evaluate bike share stations and bicycles for safety, function, and cleanliness.

Blueprint analysis and construction takeoffs for painting contractor. Candidate must be able to provide precise data related to all aspects of interior and exterior painting specs to allow estimator to make timely bids. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is now accepting applications for its Summer Research Team (SRT) Program for Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). The UTC STEM Education program via the NSF NOYCE grant has developed an internship program that will provide STEM Education students with many opportunities to apply their knowledge on and off UTC’s campus.  The successful applicant will be in pursuit of a STEM Education degree.  There are eight different internship placement locations and each has specific requirements for each position. It is imperative that you review the internship descriptions prior to submitting your application. 

Internship terms are for Spring 2016, 15- 20 hours per week (maximum of 200 hours per semester) and Summer 2016, 40 hours per week (maximum of 400 hours).  All internships will be at least 10 weeks.

The Rustic House Candle Company handcrafts luxury soy candles in North Chattanooga.  Our business is growing quickly and an intern for outside sales would be extremely helpful!

The Department of Energy (DOE) Scholars Program is now accepting applications for Summer 2016.

The DOE Scholars Program offers unique opportunities that introduce students or post-graduates to the agency’s mission and operations. Participants in the DOE Scholars Program gain a competitive edge as they apply their education, talent and skills in a variety of scientific research settings within the DOE complex. Appointments are available in a variety of disciplines at participating DOE facilities nationwide.

Being selected as a DOE Scholar offers the following benefits:

About the AJGA

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.


The AJGA is looking for talented and well-rounded applicants to serve as operations interns. The operations internship is an entry-level position and you must be 21 at the start of the internship. Interns will travel extensively throughout the United States during the internship to help conduct national junior golf tournaments.

Job Responsibilities

  • On-course rules officiating
  • General tournament set-up and preparation
  • Golf course set-up and preparation
  • Start and score players
  • Monitor equipment inventory, maintenance and replenishment
  • Public speaking
  • Customer Service
  • Operation and maintenance of company vehicles
  • Working with golf course staff, sponsors, stakeholders and volunteers
  • Maintain and work within a tournament budget

Job Qualifications

  • Golf knowledge is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Experience in event management/operations is preferred
  • Past experience in a team environment
  • Efficiency, multi-tasking and time management
  • Ability to work and communicate in a team atmosphere

  • The AJGA will pay a $250 per week stipend for the spring and a $275 per week stipend for the summer.
  • All tournament-related expenses (lodging, food, gas and laundry) will be paid by the AJGA
  • In limited instances a week off could happen for a team. In this case all travel, food and lodging will be on each individual if they determine to go home or stay in the city in which they are located. In this case, time off is unpaid.
  • Travel to and from Atlanta prior to and after the internship will be on a stipend basis.
  • Each intern will be provided with Ralph Lauren clothing, Under Armour® shoes and sunglasses
