The Career and Student Employment Center and UTC Faculty and Staff enjoy a strong partnership in our shared commitment to provide students with a quality education for their academic and personal development. Our role includes providing a resource to students which will assist them identify employment opportunities consistent with their qualifications and interests and the academic preparation and support you provide. We need your help in order to accomplish this successfully. We ask that you provide us with your ideas and constructive feedback on the comprehensiveness and usefulness of our Web site and programs.
Our staff members are available to speak in person to your classes, student organizations, or faculty/staff meetings about the Career Center and its programs and services. We are available to assist you plan and develop special programs for your students and/or provide you with presentations on resume preparation, interview skills, etc.
Please inform your students about us. If you feel a student needs extra help developing his/her resume or you think they may need to improve their interview skills, please refer them to us. Recommend our site to employers interested in recruiting our students and alumni, and we will be happy to work with them to post their jobs, schedule an on-campus interview, or assist in any other appropriate manner to help them meet their employment needs.
At times, you may be called upon to act as a reference for students or to refer the names of students to potential employers. It is important to understand that these practices may bring up potential legal and ethical concerns. We invite you to review Principles for Professional Conduct developed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers which addresses such concerns.
