The Climbing Gym

Indoor 43' 7" high Rock Climbing Tower featuring a wide range of climbing routes from beginner to expert difficulty.

Boulder Wall and Climbing Tower Climb Time

Are available for student and alumni use throughout the week. All necessary climbing equipment (harnesses, helmets, climbing shoes, chalk, belay devices, etc.) are provided for indoor use. The climbing areas are facilitated by trained UTC Outdoors staff who belay and manage participants. The bouldering area now has over one foot of padded landing space beneath the climbers.

Belay Clinics

Trained UTC Outdoors staff teach participants the basics of belaying and an introduction to route climbing safety techniques. Upon successful completion of the clinic, participants will become certified to belay others on the UTC climbing wall.

*Participants must sign up in advance*

Lead Climbing Clinics

Rock Wall Managers will teach participants the fundamentals of lead climbing in the gym and outdoors through explanation of equipment and techniques. Participants will then be given the opportunity to practice lead climbing skills in the safety of the indoor climbing wall. The clinics are offered throughout the semester and must be signed up for in the UTC Outdoors office.

*Participants must have completed the Belay Clinic prior to attending the Lead climbing clinic*
