I received a B.S. in Molecular Biology from Virginia Tech, as well as a B.A. in English Literature, also from Virginia Tech. After finishing my undergraduate degrees, I spent five years as a research technician for the College of Natural Resources at Virginia Tech. I completed my M.S. at Clemson University in Developmental Physiology from the Department of Animal Sciences in 2009, using molecular & histological techniques to characterize the effects of estrogen on the pre-pubertal development of Holstein calves. I taught at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC and Florence-Darlington Technical College until 2010. I then joined the Department of Biological & Environmental Sciences at UTC.

Currently, I teach Functional Human Anatomy (BIO2060) and Human Physiology (BIO2080), and serve as lab coordinator for the Anatomy & Physiology labs.
