As temporary, part time employees, adjunct faculty do not qualify for most benefits. (See the this web page for the definition of employment classifications.) Benefits available to adjuncts are listed below.
Retirement Plans/Deferred Compensation/Roth 401k Plans: Adjunct faculty that have worked for the institution for 6 consecutive months may elect to enroll in one of the two retirement plans; and/or the Tax Deferred Income Plans and/or a Roth IRA. Contact Human Resources for specific information and the forms to enroll in these programs. Adjunct employees who choose to enroll in the deferred compensation plans also need to stop their contributions for the months they will not be receiving pay from the university and restart the contributions in the programs for subsequent months of employment.
