Mentor: Professor Nicole Brown

Nicole BrownProfessor Nicole Brown is a native of Chattanooga. She received her B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Mass Communications: Radio/TV and her Master's degree in Public Administration from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She currently works for UTC as the Associate in Equity & Diversity and serves as the faculty advisor for The Perch. Ms. Brown is also an Adjunct Professor in the Communications Department for UTC.

Brown is most known in the city for her work as a professional broadcaster with the Brewer Media Group. After a summer internship with the company, she was offered a job with Brewer Media Group immediately after graduating from MTSU. With over 15 years as on-air personality Khole Brown, she enjoyed entertaining and informing listeners for WJTT-Power 94, WMPZ-Groove 93 and WMPZ-Z93. Brown loved radio so much that she worked for two stations simultaneously. She has interviewed artists like LL Cool J, David Banner, Lil Jon, Tank, Boyz II Men, and many more! The artists mentioned were a few her most memorable interviews.

Brown currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Chattanooga Women's Leadership Institute, Chattanooga Choral Society for the Preservation of African-American Song, City of Chattanooga The Future Is Ours (Gang Task Force) and Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, Inc. She is also a graduate of the 2012 Leadership Chattanooga class with the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.
