Real World 101

Real World 101 is a series of activities and events offered to graduating seniors to help prepare them for their transition into the "real world" after college. The program involves a seminar on post college topics, various social activities, the annual Senior Sendoff party, the UTC Last Lecture, the Graduation Celebration and the Official UTC Ring Ceremony.

Senior Seminars

The Senior Seminar program involves a panel presentation from professionals and alumni on post college topics, including real estate, investing for beginners and personal finance. After the panel presentations there is a post-program reception for more one-on-one networking. FREE food and refreshments, and there is usually a chance to win a special door prize (like an iPod Shuffle and other great door prizes)! It's also a great opportunity to meet UTC alumni and various professionals to help you get a leg up on post collegiate life.

Topics include:

• Finding and financing your first home
• Personal Finance
• Home and life insurance
• Job interviewing and etiquette
• Getting involved as a new alumni
• Career Planning
• Investments for beginners

Last Lecture

The way a lecture should be. Come enjoy a laid back session (at a local bar) with one your favorite UTC professors (selected by majority vote). Hear about their walk through the college-work transition and get some pointers on what to look forward to as you enter the real world.

Senior Sendoff

Enjoy some ice cream on us. SAC would like to honor our seniors with free ice cream. It's also a great opportunity to meet some of the members of the UTC Young Alumni Council and network to make some great career contacts.
