Let’s take a look at campus news.

Fall registration began today and will continue through April the 13 th. So if you haven’t talked to your advisor, make an appointment soon so you can get the classes you want and need.

Allison

The Student Success Center will sponsor a financial management workshop tomorrow April 4, 4:00-5:00 pm in the Lookout Mountain Room. The workshop will deal with financial issues such as Money and Credit card management, credit reports and identity theft.

An external reviewer recently rated the History Department 100% on Tennessee Higher Education Commission’s assessment standards, commending the department for its extraordinary accomplishments. The review was part of the department’s academic program review process, with exemplary faculty cited as the major strength of the History Department.

Voting for SGA officers will take place on the UTC website for SGA elections. Elections will include President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Senate Seats. Student will also have a chance to vote in The Wellness Center options:

-Option A is a gradual implementation of the fee starting at $15 per semester in fall 2006, to an additional $10 per semester in fall 2007 and $15 per semester fall 2008.
-Option B is a fee increase of $40 starting in fall 2008.

Kaplan Test Prep will hold a free LSAT strategy seminar for prospective Law school students on Monday, April 10 at 7 pm at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Brock Hall room 405. And the last paper version of the MCAT will be administered in August, 2006. Come to a free event to learn what is changing, how the new test will work, and how the change will affect your MCAT prep. The seminar will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, April 6, in Brock Hall 405 of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

And today kicks off the International Students Organization’s world fest. There are several events on the schedule today including

Cultural booths were you can Learn about different countries represented by UTC's international students. The location of the booths will be on Vine Street in front of University Center from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.or the University Center Lobby in case of rain."Preserving Your Language and Your Cultur’ will be presented by Dr. Pedro Campa where he will talk about preserving cultural and linguistic heritage. This event will be held in the UC auditorium from 6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

 

The International Movie Sango Malo will be shown in Brock hall from 201 from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

The men’s tennis team won its fourth straight match Sunday and third consecutive Southern Conference dual, defeating Appalachian State 5-2.

 


In Softball Chattanooga’s comeback bid fell one run short 8-7 to the Eagles Sunday afternoon as the Georgia Southern Eagles escaped the Lady Mocs 8-7 in the final game of the three-game weekend series at Eagle Field in Statesboro


The Lady Mocs Sweep Two Games From the Eagles. The Chattanooga softball team tallied 20 hits and scored 17 runs in two games to defeat Georgia Southern 7-0 and 10-5 Saturday afternoon at Eagle Field in Statesboro, Ga. The Lady Mocs improved to 22-23 overall and are 2-3 in Southern Conference action with the pair of victories. The two teams will complete the three-game series Sunday afternoon at 1
