In campus news, The UTC Lupton Library is proud to announce that New York Times bestselling novelist E. Lynn Harris will be the speaker at this years Lupton Library Author Series on Tuesday March 7th at 7p.m. in the U.C. Auditorium. The public is invited and admission is free. Harris has written over a dozen novels, a memoir among many other accolades.
Anchor 2 This is Foreign Language week at UTC. Monday March 6 th Spanish Film “MI Familia” will be shown in Brock 201 at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, March 8 th there will be a German Speaker --"Erlebnisse in Deutschland" In Brock 202 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Also Wednesday, March 8 th A French play in which UTC French Students will perform scenes from Eugene Ionesco's "La Cantatrice chauve" (The Bald Soprano). This is free and open to the public ! This will be in Brock 205 at 3:15 p.m
And also Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. chat with “Loco Lucas” host of Spanish call in show at Chattanooga State radio station.
Mocs news will keep you updated throughout the week on Foreign Language Week activities.
Campus news: On March 7 th and 8 th the SGA will conduct a referendum to gather student input on a proposed increase in the student wellness fee. Students may vote online or in the University Center lobby from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 7-8. The results of the vote will be advisory for the UTC administration when considering the fee increase.

Take OTS :Sports Anchor 1: Now in sports This past weekend was big for UTC Basketball
The Lady MOCs win the Southern Conference Title! The socon tournaments were held in Charleston, South Carolina, March 3 rd through 5 th.
Chattanooga beat UNC Greensboro 91-79 Sunday night in the Southern Conference tournament title game, advancing to the NCAA tournament with the nation's longest winning streak. Tiffani Roberson scored 20 points and was named the most outstanding player of the tournament. Alex Anderson added 16 points for the Lady Mocs while Brooke Hand had 15, including four 3-pointers.
The Men’s Basketball season ends with a Loss to Davidson in SoCon Championship. Keddric Mays led the Mocs with 13, including three shots from behind the arc. Mays ended the season with 91 three-pointers, a new Chattanooga single season record. Ricky Hood was the only other Chattanooga player in double figures with 10 points.
The wrestling team claimed its 21st Southern Conference Wrestling Championship and second in a row Saturday, outdistancing second-place UNC Greensboro 107.5 to 77.
