This will be an exciting fun filled night of praise & worship! This event will be held February 28th at 7:00 P.M. in the UC’s Chattanooga Room. There is no admission fee, and there will be FREE FOOD and FUN!!!!! There will also be an OPEN MIC session towards the end if anyone would like to participate. CAMERA 1

BRITISH: And since this is Black History month, Mocs News will keep you updated with what’s going on throughout the month. On Thursday, February 23 Taste of Soul. An exhibit and pot luck exploring African American culture sponsored by the Black Student Alliance is held in the University Center at 6 p.m. Also on Thursday, February 23 An Introduction to the Black Experience Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Eta Phi Chapter held in the University Center Auditorium at 7: 06 p.m. Friday, February 24 A Walk Through African-America. This detailed exhibition by UC Foundation Professor of English, Earl Braggs will highlight African American history, literature and the Civil Rights Movement. CAMERA 1 ---Take OTS http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/hopes-for-miners-fading/2006/02/21/1140284037935.html --- A GAS EXPLOSION MONDAY IN A MINE IN MEXICO, JUST 85 MILES SOUTH OF EAGLE PRESS, TEXAS, HAS HAD 65 MINERS TRAPPED FOR OVER 24 HOURS. OFFICIALS SAID THE MINERS HAD SIX HOURS OF OXYGEN AND THE RESCUERS ARE NOT SURE IF FRESH AIR IS REACHING THEM. EMERGENCY OFFICIALS HAVE SAID THAT THE TOXIC GASES WERE SLOWING DOWN THE RESCUE EFFORTS.

OFFICER RECCUS JONES PULLED OVER 25-YEAR OLD HERMAN NIXON LAST NIGHT (MONDAY NIGHT). WHEN NIXON COULDN'T PRODUCE A DRIVER'S LICENSE, OFFICER JONES ASKED HIM TO STEP OUT OF THE CAR. INSTEAD OF GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER, NIXON STARTED DRIVING AWAY. JONES HELD ONTO THE SUSPECT AND WAS DRAGGED TWO-HUNDRED FEET BEFORE HE FELL TO THE PAVEMENT. THE POLICE OFFICER WAS TAKEN TO A NEARBY HOSPITAL AND TREATED FOR A SEVERE CONCUSSION AND MULTIPLE CUTS AND BRUISES. NIXON WAS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT OF A POLICE OFFICER. POLICE CONTINUE FOLLOWING SEVERAL LEADS FOR A SECOND SUSPECT IN THE CASE, WHO WAS BELIEVED TO BE IN THE CAR WITH NIXON AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

British: The men’s tennis team returns to action Wednesday, hosting Murray State at 2 p.m. at the UTC Tennis Complex. The Mocs are 4-2 on the year and have won four of their last five matches after a season-opening loss at Middle Tennessee. Admission to the match is free. ---Take OTS MOCS BASKETBALL---

Anderson and the Lady Mocs will head to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on Wofford in the season finale Saturday at 5 p.m. CAMERA 3 British: I’m not sure if can take much more of this weather. Hopefully, David, you can tell us some good news about the weather.
