Since its inception in 1988, SCEA has leveraged more than $7 million in support of local and regional education efforts.

Matching grants from the Lyndhurst Foundation and the State of Tennessee created the nation's first endowed Chair of Excellence in Arts Education. The Center's endowment was established by a challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
