Frierson Leadership Institute and J. Burton Frierson Chair of Excellence
Mark E. Mendenhall holds the
J. Burton Frierson Chair of Excellence in Business Leadership at the
University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He is also Director of the Frierson
Leadership Institute.The vision of the Frierson Leadership Institute, housed in the Fletcher Building of the College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, is to conduct and sponsor cutting-edge research on leadership and management, and to spread that knowledge throughout the local community, the nation, and the world.
The Institute carries out this vision by sponsoring worthy
research projects, organizing conferences, and publishing the
findings that emerge from these projects. The ideas that are
generated from the publications are then taken to the business
community via public and private seminars, speeches, practitioner
conferences, and consulting projects.
