Authorization
The University of
Tennessee at Chattanooga has designated an Information Security and Assurance (InfoSec) Center to serve as a regional model for
promoting excellence in information security education, assist businesses,
government agencies, educational institutions and industry in their information
security needs, and serve as the first point of call for any information
security emergency. The Center is
housed in the department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of
Engineering and Computer Science.
The documentation
from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the University of Tennessee
System and letter
from Dean of UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science demonstrate the
official approval for the establishment of the UTC InfoSec Center.
Also the
Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), the National Security Agency
(NSA), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have certified that the set of
courseware offered by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga meets the
National Training Standard for Information
Systems Security Professionals, CNSS (formerly NSTISSI) Nos. 4011 and 4012.
