Who are we?

Sara Peters
Women's Center Director
Sara Peters has been at UTC since 2005 when she was hired as the Coordinator for Education and Advocacy for the Transformation Project. In 2008 she became the founding Director of the UTC Women's Center. Ms. Peters continues to serve as the primary victim advocate for the UTC campus and is also an adjunct faculty member in the Women's Studies Program and Criminal Justice Department. Ms. Peters earned both her B.A. and M.A. in History from Auburn University. While in graduate school, Ms. Peters served as the graduate assistant to the Women's Studies Program. She specializes in 19th century women's history and violence against women.

Cassandra Nice
Women's Center Assistant Director for Education and Programming
Cassie Nice comes to UTC with a M.S. In College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College '11 and a B.S. In Communication from The College at Brockport '08. Ms. Nice spent a year working as a Programs Assistant at Billie Jean King's nonprofit, the Women's Sports Foundation, before attending graduate school where she spent a year as a graduate intern at the Center for Women and Gender at Rochester Institute of Technology. Ms. Nice has been with the Women's Center at UTC since March of 2012.

Katherine Ray
Women's Center Graduate Assistant
Katie Ray has been the Women's Center graduate assistant since Fall 2011. Katie is currently in the M.S. program in the Criminal Justice Department. Ms. Ray earned her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama.
