Parental Involvement
Parents are also expected to attend meetings conducted by the program staff concerning the summer and academic year components and student financial aid applications. In addition, the program staff regularly contact parents concerning students, school and program performance. Parents are expected to be cooperative in discussing these concerns with the counselor.
The parents of Upward Bound students are expected to support the program by encouraging their son or daughter to participate actively in all activities, to attend school regularly, to study at home and to seek enrollment in a post secondary educational program.
