Battle Academy for Teaching and Learning
Battle Academy, located in downtown Chattanooga, has worked with the Southeast Center for Education in the Arts for many years.
SCEA Director of Theatre Education Scott Rosenow regularly conducts workshops with Battle teachers and students.
SCEA Director of Visual Art Education Joel Baxley has presented Bookmaking with the Third Grade, Lewis and Clark: Illustrated Journals and Memory: The Work of Marc Chagall with Fourth Grade, and Making Metaphor with Fifth Grade.
From 2003 to 2007, Battle Academy served as a site for the UTC Teacher Preparation course Arts Integration which was team-taught by the SCEA Directors. Battle students regularly participated in model arts integrated lessons taught as part of this course.
