Elsilynn Barber

Elsilynn BarberElsilynn Knisley Barber is a retired elementary music teacher with thirty years' experience teaching music to children. She is also an accomplished pianist and organist. Elsilynn holds a Master of Music Education and has training in Kodaly, Orff, movement, and discipline-based music, dance, and drama education. She teaches piano, recorder, and Kindermusik classes for Cadek Conservatory of Music at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

During Elsilynn's teaching career, over two hundred of her students have been selected for the Chattanooga Boys Choir and the Chattanooga Girls Choir. She loves interacting with children and helping them grow developmentally, musically, socially, and intellectually as they sing, move, play music. Elsilynn is passionate about the power of music to enable children to express themselves through music and movement. She brings compassion, energy, enthusiasm, and a wealth of music to children.
