Dee BaldwinDee Baldwin, PhD, RN, FAAN

Dr. Baldwin is an experienced nurse educator and researcher. She has a PhD in Higher Education with a focus in Curriculum Development and Instructional Processes from Georgia State University. Dr. Baldwin has taught undergraduate and graduate nursing education for more than 25 years, and provided leadership over graduate nursing education for six years at Georgia State University. Dr. Baldwin has also conducted multiple funded demonstration projects and research studies that have focused on minority populations and students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Many of these studies used focus groups and survey methodology to explore phenomena of concern. The studies also used quantitative and qualitative methods to summarize reports.

Dr. Baldwin is nationally recognized for her expertise in curriculum development and evaluation, and has served as a consultant to many governmental organizations, including the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Baldwin has served as a peer-reviewer and program evaluator for HRSA related to workforce diversity, geriatric nursing, and advanced nursing education. She has also consulted with several academic institutions, including Atlanta Technical College, Morris Brown College, School of Nursing and Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. At Morris Brown College, Dr. Baldwin was instrumental in preparing the curriculum that was submitted to the Georgia Board of Registered Professional Nursing for final program approval.

Dr. Baldwin is an expert in cultural diversity and health disparities. She has provided numerous on-site visitations to academic institutions and professional groups such as Tuskegee University, Northwestern University School of Nursing in Shreveport, Louisiana, Albany State University, Clayton State University, and Massachusetts General Hospital, Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Baldwin has also published multiple articles related to cultural competency and cultural diversity.

Dr. Baldwin received her Ph.D. in Higher Education at Georgia State University and a Master of Nursing degree from Emory University. She currently serves as an Associate Professor and Project Director of Project Breast Health in the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.
