Desired Outcomes/Competencies:
1. Students will understand the importance of the grocery store industry.
2. Students can name 5 jobs in a grocery store.
Description of the Process:
- Explore the website. ( in pairs ) economical buys; type of party wants/needs.
- Allow students to select items for the party.
- Discuss each of the grocery store jobs, explaining what people do all day.
- Invite grocery store manager to visit the classroom.
- Invite the cafeteria manager to visit the classroom.
- Select books on the subject for reading circle and independent reading.
- Visit the website and purchase items.
- Take field trip to the grocery store to purchase items for party.
- Party on Friday.
