Narrative:  The Weakley County partnership wanted to give students access to community leaders in a variety of settings and produced a video entitled "Education: The Ladder to Success". The goals of the video were:

1. expose students to successful business, community and governmental leaders;
2. have these leaders link education to career and personal success;
3. have the leaders speak on a personal level to motivate and encourage students to work hard and do their best in school;
4. expose students to a broad range of careers across the 7 clusters, race, gender and age; and,
5. make these testimonies easily accessible at minimal cost.

It Works!  Eighteen government and business leaders committed to assisting in the production by providing 5-7 minute presentations on the importance of school and the connection between school and their current success. The video has been shown at partnership meetings and 2001 Business Edge for Teachers conference and 40 business representatives and 50 educators have seen the video. Videos are now being distributed to all schools. The plans include using closed circuit TV within the schools as short information bites during announcements.
