The UTC Child Welfare Training Program is part of Title IV-E that provides financial support to train the future of the child welfare workforce across the United States. In Tennessee, this program is called the Child Welfare Stipend Training Program. It is the goal of our training program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to deliver the most cutting edge training to meet the growing demands of the children and their families around the state of Tennessee in collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services and the Tennessee Commission of Child Welfare.
- The Child Welfare Stipend Training Program at UTC provides unique training opportunities and financial support to those students accepted into UTC Department of Social Work that are interested in a career with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services.
- Students in this program will receive unique, hands on course work and training experiences as a part of their BSW program. Completion will prepare these social work professionals to join the child welfare workforce in Tennessee upon graduation.
- Students accepted into this program may receive up to 24 months of tuition assistance to complete their BSW degree and a stipend payment up to four semesters to assist with books or living expenses.
- Upon graduation and completion of this program students will be certified as child welfare professionals in the State of Tennessee. Please see the information below to learn more about this exciting program.
