Micronaut Program

Block Programming called Micro-Comet Micronaut

Grades 3-4

Micro Comet Mission

It is the year 2061. Traveling between Earth and Mars, the Micro Comet crew is on a mission to locate Comet Halley. After locating the comet, this scientific team of explorers will launch a probe into the comet to hopefully discover the secrets of this ancient cosmic material.

Micronaut Program Grades 3-4 – 1 hour program includes Micro Comet Mission and one Micronaut EVA.

Maximum is 36 participants —Divided into 2 groups up to 18 students each.

*1 Micro Comet Crew Manifest is required for each group.

Over 36 students must do the 2 hour program.

Micronaut Program Grades 3-4 2 hour program includes Micro Comet Mission, and two Micronaut EVA's.

Maximum is 54 participants —Divided into 3 groups up to 18 students each.

*1 Micro Comet Crew Manifest is required for each group.

Price:

For 1 hour Program: $250.00 Maximum is 36 Participants

For 2 hour Program: $350.00 Maximum is 54 Participants

Micronaut EVA's:

ORIGAMI Frisbee NanoSat In this activity, The Origami Frisbee meets science and mathematics. NASA is investigating new ideas for sending satellites into space. The new technology is based on the flight of a Frisbee. These “Nanosatellites” are smaller and less expensive. Students make their own 8 sided flying “nanosat” disc out of paper. By using the folding techniques of origami students learn different geometric shapes and terms as they explore the latest in space technology. Let’s all go fly a Frisbee! Grade Level 3-4.

Micronaut Moon Phases is a hands-on event that addresses the use of scientific tools to explore moon phases. Students investigate the sun, earth, and moon system. They will model the moon phases.

MICRO ROCKETS

(Grade Level 3-4)

Investigate Newton 's Laws of Motion through the construction and launch of rockets. See how the laws affect what happens to your rocket.
