CADEK SUMMER FLUTE CAMP AND LESSONS

SUMMER FLUTE AT CADEK RETURNS!
I will be offering private lessons on the following Tuesdays: June 29, July 6, 13, 20, and 27. Lessons will be scheduled for 45 minutes each . I will only have room for 12 students, so sign up early!
On THURSDAY, JULY 8 THROUGH SATURDAY, JULY 10, we will have fun reading as much flute ensemble and choir music as we can stand! The schedule will be:
THURSDAY, JULY 8:
6:30-7:00 p.m. – Registration for adult flutists (college age and above)
7:00-9:00 p.m. – Flute Choir reading session for adult flutists
FRIDAY JULY 9:
10:00-10:30 a.m. – registration
10:30-12:00 noon - flute choir reading session
12:00-1:00 – lunch break (bring a sack lunch if you would like to “picnic
on the patio”
1:00-2:00 - small ensembles – we will break into small groups to read
duets, trios. There will be a library for you to choose from, then
grab a friend or two and go have fun!
2:00-2:30 - special session: “Exploring other aspects of flute-playing” –
this may include jazz, extended techniques, etc. This will be led by
Mrs. Cindy Solfest-Wallis
2:30-2:45 - break
2:45-4:00 - flute choir reading session
4:00-6:30 dinner (students dismissed)
6:30-7:00 – registration for any adult not already registered
7:00-9:00 p.m. – adult choir reading session
SATURDAY, JULY 11:
10:00-10:30 a.m. – warm-ups for all groups – bring your Trevor Wye
books 1 & 2 or the Omnibus, if you have them!)
10:30-12:00 – Flute choir reading session for all ages, including adults*
12:00-1:30 – break (bring a sack lunch! We will “picnic” on the patio
again!)
Visit the Whipkeys Music Co. exhibit…try some flutes !
1:30-2:45 – rehearsal of concert program
2:45-3:00 – break
3:00- 3:45 – INFORMAL CONCERT – TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
*Students should have at least 2 years playing experience to get the most enjoyment from this, but less experienced flutists are encouraged to come and give it a try! Mrs. Cindy will meet with those who have less than 2 years playing experience. All adult flutists are also welcome, even if they cannot come the other two nights. This is designed to be a LOW STRESS playing time! J
Students who sign up for the lessons AND flute choir sessions, will get priority scheduling for fall lessons, followed by those who sign up for one or the other. Please fill out the attached form and return it to me by JUNE 29 if you are interested in lessons. You may return this either in person, by e-mail or by fax. Any forms returned after that will be taken on a space-available basis for lessons. I will accept forms for the flute choir up through July 9.
