Kids 'n Keyboards is a group piano course for beginning students ages 6-8. Research in early childhood music shows that group instruction provides an enjoyable, stress-free environment for the presentation of basic musical skills, while also establishing a sense of group spirit and dynamics that increases motivation.
Kids 'n Keyboards offers 45 minutes of weekly instruction in note reading and development of technique and musicality. The course serves as an excellent preparation for later private piano instruction while instilling a life-long love for music in each student.

The Instructor: Janet Sump holds a B.
S. Degree in Music Education from UTC and a M. M. Degree from
Converse College. She is a Faculty Associate with the UTC Cadek
Department of Music and the Cadek Conservatory of Music where
she has taught for 15 years. Janet is certified in the state of
Tennessee to teach Music K-12 and holds both state and national
certification in music education, piano, and violin from MTNA.
