Freshman Academic Success Tracking

Welcome to The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga! UTC is committed to helping students make a productive
transition to college life. Central to this commitment are various academic programs, resources, and services.

Assistance is available in many areas, including tutoring in various subjects, preparing for tests, developing effective study skills, writing assignments, choosing a career, changing your major and using the library. These programs, resources, and ser vices are free and available to all students, not just those having academic difficulties. The contact
persons are friendly and eager to help. Appointments are available and walk-ins are welcome; please call, email, drop by, or visit the websites for further information. We hope you have many great years at UTC!

Provides information concerning various assistance programs, resources, and services. The primary focus of the Freshmen Academic Success Tracking program is freshmen class attendance. Regular class attendance is a major factor in determining the academic success of students at all levels.

Provides academic advisement for assigned freshmen, pre-majors, and students having academic difficulties. Advisors assist students in selecting a major, registering for courses, understanding university policies, and connecting to campus resources. The Center also provides tutoring, supplemental instruction, assistance with study skills, and workshops to improve academic success.

Offers personal and career counseling to currently enrolled students. Intake persons are seen on a first-come, first-served basis and waiting is usually no longer than about 20 minutes. If you are unable to come during intake hours feel free to call for an appointment. Most importantly, our services are confidential and free, except for testing. You can talk about choosing a major, adjustment to college life, marital/relationship stress, career/vocational issues, family, anxiety, depression and grief, stress management, test anxiety, study skills, crisis intervention, substance abuse, breaking destructive habits, compulsive behaviors, and time management.
