Cohorts

Fresh Life cohorts are groups of up to 25 freshmen that interact during the pre-semester activities and throughout the semester. Each cohort is led by a professional staff member who has experience with students in transition. One or two faculty members and one student mentor complete the team that will lead classroom and out of class activities.

By participating in group activities, sharing common academic and social experiences, and seeking guidance from faculty and upperclassmen, students achieve greater success in making the transition from high school to college, from dependence to independence, from student to life-long learner.

Selection of a cohort is based upon each individual student’s academic needs and interests. Students are advised carefully, according to their chosen degree program. The course options include classes that most students will take early in their course of study, regardless of major.

Cohort assignments will be made during summer orientation sessions. Fresh Life students should see a Fresh Life advisor before meeting with an advisor in the major department. Submitting online informationfrom this website will not enroll you in the Fresh Life program.

Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
