what is this site about? This site is devoted to disseminating research results relevant to Tennessee music educators. It is sponsored by the Research Committee of the Tennessee Music Education Association, William R. Lee, Chair.

why is the site needed? Because items about relevant research in music education are difficult to locate and interpret.

who supports this effort? This site is supported by the Music Department of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Professor William R. Lee is site manager and Coordinator of Music Education in the Department. Contributions from Tennessee music educators and others are invited. Dr. Lee also maintains a site devoted to the history of music education at http://www.utc.edu/~wlee.

the photographs. One photograph is of Clara Schumann, the wife of German composer Robert Schumann. The school photograph is of a school in or near Dekalb County, Tennessee, about 1920.  The site manager would appreciate your contributions of photographs of children in Tennessee learning music, historic or contemporary, to be placed on the site.
