Master of Education in School Leadership: Teacher Leadership Concentration Now is the perfect time to start a master's program in TEACHER LEADERSHIP! The “School Leadership Program” at UTC has two concentrations, one that focuses on teacher leadership and the knowledge and skills needed to be part of the school improvement process from the classroom. It is an excellent program, grounded in theories that are essential knowledge for school leaders, based on new Tennessee standards, and focused on the reflective practice that is necessary for any school leader's success. It is our goal that you graduate ready to accept a heightened leadership responsibilities within your school, either as a team leader, a department head, a member of the school's leadership team or another position that allows you to exercise instructional leadership. This concentration does not lead to principal licensure. The new program will require 33 credits and be offered as a 'hybrid', with courses designed on-line and face-to-face. There are at least 6 credits of electives, allowing you to focus on areas of interest to you. A typical course will meet one or two evenings a month and supplemented by an on-line component. The program will begin fall semester 2009. General information can be found in this flyer. Application information is in the above flyer. All application materials are due no later than June 16.
