Math 214 is a course designed for elementary, middle, and special education majors. The major topics for Math 214 are:

Goals for Math 214 are:
Use inductive and deductive reasoning to make generalizations and prove results.
Understand the origins, meaning, and uses of all types of real numbers.
Understand and apply numerical operations, their properties, and their algorithms.
To be proficient with the mechanical skills required to teach early mathematics.
Develop perimeter, area, and volume formulas for basic polygonal and polyhedral shapes.
Perform computations and estimations in a variety of situations. .
