Math 162 is the lab part of a course which has traditionally been the second semester of Calculus. Students are expected to also take the lecture part of this course which is Math 161. By taking both courses we will cover the material that is covered in the second semester of Calculus as taught at many universities. The major topics for Math 162 are:
This lab course helps to prepare students to take Differential Equations(Math 245) and Multivariable Calculus(Math 255) but it also introduces students to the very important topic of mathematical software. Many professionals that need to use mathematics now use some kind of software. Although not every student will take all of the following courses, this course covers material that is needed for Physics, Physical Chemistry, and many Engineering courses.
The links below refer specifically to Math 162 in the current term or in the last term that I taught the course.
