Exam Schedule

Web Homework

14% of the course grade

It is very important that you get very high scores on the web homeworks as your web homework average can effect your final course average dramatically.

Exam 1

18% of the course grade

Friday, February 1

The sections from the textbook that will be on this exam will be announced in class. If you can’t work a homework problem from one of these sections then you need to get help from someone. The web homeworks that were due before the day of the exam will also be covered on the exam.

Exam 2

18% of the course grade

Wednesday, February 27

Exam 3

18% of the course grade

Wednesday, April 2

 Final Exam

32% of the course grade

The final exam is cumulative with approximately equal weight given to each of the sections that we covered in our course. There will be some sections at the end of our course that will be on the final exam but were not on any of the other exams.

Make-up Tests:

Make-up tests will be given only for extreme circumstances. NOT considered extreme are: inadequate time to study for the test; another test on the same day; personal vacation; oversleeping; ignorance about the test date (this list is not exhaustive). If you must miss a test you must inform me in advance if possible; in any case you must present proof of the reasons for your absence. The make-up must be taken on the next class day.

Grading Scale:

Grading for the semester will be according to the following scale:

100% ³ A ³ 90% > B ³ 80% > C ³ 70% > D ³ 60%  > F

Any curving of grades will be determined after the final exam is graded. Cutting class more than 5 times will reduce your grade very quickly. If you cut class 9 times then you would get an F even if your average is a perfect 100.
