Current Projects

Walker is the project director of the CAREERS grant, a grant intended to
educate middle and high school students in the Chattanooga
community about allied health careers.

Biographical Information
Dr. Randy Walker is
a UC Foundation Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy program at UTC. He
earned a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the Medical College of
Virginia, a Master of Arts from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Georgia State University. Prior to coming to UTC, Dr. Walker was the Assistant
Chairman of the Department of Physical Therapy at Georgia State University. He has been active in the American Physical Therapy
Association for a number of years where he served on the Standard and Quality
Assurance Committee at the national level; he was elected to the Board of
Directors as Treasurer of the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia, and has
been elected to the House of Delegates of the APTA a number of times. He
currently serves on the APTA’s Nominating
Committee. Dr. Walker is currently the
chair of the Physical Therapy Committee of the Tennessee Board of Examiners for
Occupational and Physical Therapy. His
primary area of clinical and teaching expertise is orthopaedic physical therapy
and he is actively involved in related research and clinical consultation. He also teaches PT basic skills, muscle
testing and goniometry in the curriculum.

Personal Interests
Dr. Walker's hobbies include rock climbing,
mountain biking, racquetball, snow skiing and hiking.
