Introduction
to Graph Theory, Gary Chartrand and Ping Zhang. McGraw Hill, 2005.
Course
description: Core topics include an overview of graph theory and its applications,
trees, planar graphs and graphical invariants such as Hamiltonicity,
domination, coloring and matchings.
Prerequisite: Math 300 with at least a
C.
Assignments
and Grades:
There will be three examinations each counting 100 points and a final exam that
will count 150 points. In addition,
there will be assignments and quizzes for various point values. The total number of points scored
divided by the total number of possible will determine the course average. Course grades will then be assigned
using the scale:
A:
90-100 B:80-89 C:
70-79 D: 60-69 F: Below 60
Make-up policy: Quizzes cannot be made-up. A test can be made-up, under unusual
circumstances such as sickness or death in the family, as long as it is arranged
with the instructor at or before the actual test time. There will be no retake of any test or
quiz.
Calculators: This is a calculator-free
environment.
