Li Yang is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  

Her research interests focus on Network Security, Access Control and Trust.  She is teaching courses on Security and Computer Networks. 

She is the Director of the Information Security and Assurance (InfoSec) Center at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE-IAE).

Information Assurance Courseware in the center was certified by Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) from June 2012 to June 2017.
