Electric power in the United Kingdom is provided to consumers at 220 volts AC. Power in the United States and Canada is provided at 110 volts AC. Trying to use U. S. appliances in the UK without appropriate adjustment for the voltage differnece might result in damage to the appliance and to a hotel or home electrical system. |
