Catalog Description:
Designed to teach the student to train choral groups, read choral scores,
and conduct effective rehearsals; basic patterns for choral and orchestral
conducting, interpretation and building of repertoire of both secular
and sacred choral compositions. Actual conducting of works of all periods
with and without instrumental accompaniment. Spring semester. Prerequisites:
207, 208, 303
Read: The chapters are listed on the dates
that reading is suppose to be completed.
Form: The video observation forms are linked in Adobe Acrobat
format (.pdf)

Video review clips: These are quicktime movie clips that
include demonstrations of the gesture or pattern covered in the topic.
The clips that begin with a number are reference clips for you
to learn the gesture or pattern. You may use these when you practice the
gestures. The
clips that begin with a letter are demonstrations of gestures covered
in class. You are to
view the clips and write a few sentences describing the gesture you observed.
These
evaluations are due on the next class meeting.
