You will search the Internet to find interesting facts about the moon. You will write these facts in an online journal and create pictures of the moon. You will also use some math skills to guess (or estimate) what portion of the moon you can see. Have fun!
, Click each step to see what to do next!
First Step - Create your online journal. You will keep your moon facts here. Click the link below to go to the online journal.
Third Step - Draw the different phases of the moon. Use the pictures on the websites above to help you.
Fourth Step - Click on this website link. In your journal, list the different phases of the moon. Estimate what part of the moon can be seen. Choose a number such as 1, 1/2, 1/4, or 3/4 to describe how much of the moon can be seen. Write this in your journal.
Fifth Step - Look at these websites. Find three facts. Write these facts in your journal.
How did you do? Click on the picture below for a check sheet that you can print and give to your teacher.
Congratulations! You have learned some fun facts about the moon. You
also got to put on your thinking cap and use your guessing
(estimating) skills. You can still use your online journal to record
