    Introduction

    This WebQuest will expose students to various elements of Classicism as a preceding lesson in a larger and more comprehensive cross-discipline unit of study.  Standards from Core Knowledge curriculum will be used to map the unit.

    The revolution of Classicism throughout Western art history is a keystone of culture that is important for students to understand and appreciate.  By exploring important developments in the art culture from different time periods, students should gain knowledge of the overall development of the Western art culture, specifically, the rebirth of Classical forms and ideals.

    Task

    Students will be required to answer questions after assessing web-based information.  This information will serve as reference material for other lessons presented in the unit.

    Conclusion

    This activity should have exposed students to the art history resources on the internet.  Students should be more confident in searching for web-based resources after finishing the lesson.  Furthermore, the content will provide students with the necessary foundation for ensuing lessons.
