Description of Session
CAMTA/TMTA - In this hands-on session using paper as a manipulative, participants will learn basic origami folds that will be useful for teaching geometry concepts. Projects completed by middle grades mathematics students will be displayed. A list of origami Web sites and area paper suppliers will be distributed.
GCTM/NCTM - Participants will learn basic origami folds that will be useful for teaching geometry concepts, including reflections, rotations, and geometric solids. Figures to be created will be selected from modular and action origami. Projects completed by middle grades students will be displayed. A list of origami Web sites will be provided.
ACTM - Participants will learn to make origami figures that will be useful for teaching geometry concepts, including reflections, rotations, and geometric solids. Figures to be created will be selected from modular and action origami.
