Registering For Classes Register For Classes - You can register, add, and drop classes online. You'll need to get an advisement code from your advisor before you can register online. If I am your advisor you must meet with me before I give you an advising code. I will not give out these codes by email, but you can email me to set up an advising appointment (Charlene-Simmons@utc.edu) Figuring Out What You Need to Take Comm Degree Requirements & Advice - Learn more about majoring or minoring in Communication. Class Schedule - Find out what classes are being offered and when these classes will meet. Undergraduate Catalogs - The catalog outlines your degree requirements and provides a description of the classes offered by each department. You'll have to use the class schedule (see above) to determine when and if the courses described in the catalog are offered. General Education Requirements - Find out more about the "gen ed" classes you are required to take. These classes are in addition to the classes required by your major. Classes at Other Schools Transfer Equivalencies - Interested in taking summer school at another school? Before you register for classes check with UTC's Records and Registration to find out what classes will transfer. Their Web site lists some of the transfers currently accepted. You can also call their office to find out more (425-4416). Keeping Track of Your Degree Progress It's a good idea to keep track of the classes you have completed and the class you still need to complete before you can graduate. UTC provides check sheets to help you keep track of your degree progression. You'll need to use the checklist that corresponds with your appropraite catalog year (usually the year you entered UTC, although you can elect to change catalog years).
