Grading Policy: A Student final course grade will be determined as follows:
60% by 3 in-class (closed book)
examinations, 10 % by random pop quizzes and homework,
30% by a final comprehensive
examination (no exemptions) given per university exam schedule.
All examinations will count toward
the final grade, i.e.; no test grade will be dropped. Because of the nature of the material, all
tests may be cumulative.
Test questions will indicate the
number of points available for correct execution. Tests will be constructed so that: [90,100] is an A, [80, 89.9999) is a B,
[70,79.9999) is a C, [60,69.9999) is a D, [0,59.9999) is an F
If you have any complain about a test grade, report it
to me within 5 school days. All test
grades are final after the 5 days period.

any unexcused absence. An excused absence must be arranged in advance of test
time and may only be granted due to serious sickness, or death No make-up on Quizzes, except for those
on UTC assignments.
All tests or exams will be graded on the
student's work and not on the answer
alone.
Students
will have the opportunity to see a complete solution to all test questions.
If the instructor or a substitute
does not arrive within fifteen minutes of the start of class, students may
assume that the class is canceled.
Class Attendance Policy
You are expected to be regular and
punctual in your class attendance. Class
attendance may or may not be taken. A
student who incurs 2 or more absences may be given a course grade that is one
letter less than the actual grade. A request for an excused absence must be
made in advance of class time, and may be granted only due to accident,
sickness, or death. There must be a supporting evidence for any excuse to be
granted.
Daily Assignments: A homework assignment (normally made at each class) will be given in
which you are expected to complete before the next class. It is
your responsibility to complete your homework.
Test Dates: Test 1 Jan 30 Test 2
Feb 20 Test 3 March 27
Final Exam: Wed, April 23 11AM—1 PM. Please
report any discrepancies in this class handout.
Expectations: Punctuality, timely submission of homework,
respect for other students' opinions, and class participation are expected from
all. If for some reasons you do not understand something I have written on the
board or said during a lecture, please stop me at that moment and ask a
question.
Cell Phones/Cameras Use etc: All cell phones should be turned off and in your
bags or pockets. No taking of pictures, taping of lectures, etc. is allowed
without prior permission. Any time a
phone rings, the class must identify the culprit who will receive a -5 point on

identify the owner of the cell phone.
