DR. CHARLES LIPPY has a Ph.D. from Princeton and holds the LeRoy A. Martin Distinguished Professorship of Religious Studies. He is presently writing a textbook, Introducing Religion in America, and serving as co-editor of the four volume Encyclopdia of Religion in America. In March 2007, the Southeastern Commission for the Study of Religion denoted a panel to assessing his work interpreting American religious life, and in November 2007 the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion will have a session at its annual meeting on the three volume Faith in America: Changes, Challenges, and New Directions that he published last year. During 2007, he taught courses on Religion in American Life, Current Religious Issues, Survey of the New Testament, and Religion in Southern Culture.
