At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), Dr. Michel Holder (electrical engineering) holds the following patents:

  • Patent #5,413,222 ( 5/9/95 ) - Method of separating a particular metal fraction from a stream of materials containing various metals.
  • Patent #4,436,426 ( 3/13/84 ) - Method for making an artificial fuel log
  • Patent #4,220,453 ( 9/2/80 ) - Process for producing artificial fire logs

Funding & Grants

At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), Dr. Ahmed Eltom (electrical engineering) received external funding from The Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI), Tennessee Valley Authority, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, and ABB to develop and equip the Power Engineering Laboratory at UTC.

Achievements

At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), Dr. Virgil Thomason (electrical engineering) coordinated the management of the system installation and startup for the one of the first ever private computer-centered communication systems - Weyerhauser Corporation. He also participated in the startup of first government AUTODIN circuits and in startup of the Gentile AFB AUTODIN Center.

Consulting

  • Having completed a feasibility study, Dr. Holder is currently designing and installing an automated quality control system for C&D Technologies in Dunlap, TN, makers of heavy-duty industrial battery chargers.
  • Dr. Cliff Parten has been consulting to Accurate Automation Corporation since 1988.
