Welcome to the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga Asia Program

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Asia Program is Co-directed by Professors Richard Rice and Lucien Ellington. The major mission of the Asia Program is the provision of educational opportunities for elementary, middle, and high school teachers.
The UTC Asia Program derives most of its funding from external sources. Projects encompassed in the Asia Program include:
- National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA)—2008 Tennessee Seminars will be held in Chattanooga and Nashville in June
- Editorship of the Association for Asian Studies teaching journal, Education About Asia
- Short-term programs and a curriculum materials library for NCTA alumni and for other teachers interested in Asia.
- The Asia Program is hosting the Foreign Policy Research Institute national history teacher institute on China in March 2008.
